Waste can be a problem if you do not know how to treat it. However, what is waste for others is a raw material for us. The projects GBI Serveis has undertaken in collaboration with the IRTA and the Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona show how to increase the value of waste and obtain a new profitable product:

The CATOR plant (Catalana de Tractament d'Olis Residuals, S.A.) has over 14,000 points from which used mineral oil generated throughout Catalonia is collected to be refined in a clean process so the oil can be used optimally with no waste generation. Its successful results are manifest in the production of different products such as top-quality recycled oil bases, asphalt material for use on roads and fertilisers for agriculture.

We convert the waste into energy by producing biogas with gases (methane) generated by the fermentation of organic waste, or leachate treatments that recover and treat the liquid resulting from the decomposition of the waste, to obtain water suitable for use in watering.
